IOE panel discussions: ‘How I learned to learn’ with IOE alumni and ‘Why should university teaching be research-led?’ with IOE academics As part of the UCL Institute of Education (IOE) Graduate Open Evening, we will be running two panel discussions that you can tune into. Alumni panel discussion: How I learned to learn (5pm-5.40pm) We’ll ask our alumni about the most important lessons they’ve learned when studying at the IOE and how this has influenced their careers. Professor Becky Francis will chair the discussion and there will be the opportunity for attendees and online viewers to ask questions about our panellists’ careers and life at the IOE and beyond. Panel discussion: Why should university teaching be research-led? (6.05pm-6.50pm) We’ll ask IOE academics how their research influences their teaching and what they think the role of universities should be within society. Professor Norbert Pachler will chair the discussion and there will be the opportunity for attendees and online viewers to ask questions about our panellists’ research, teaching and how these are connected. #weareioe
