Making Old West Signs and Wood Look Rustic - Haunted Ghost Town Saloon We age wood to look old and rustic and paint weathered signs from the Old West for our abandoned old western haunted ghost town saloon DIY Halloween facade. This is the fourth video sharing the inside look at the process we use to make our old west saloon and most of our distressed signage for the Grave Rock Gulch Halloween ghost town home haunt this year. Making an old wild western mining ghost town requires lots of signs so we use the overhead projector method the most because it makes it a little more speedy project to finish. We have also used transfer marks and measuring out grid lines and such but for this purpose and because we want the signs to look aged its good not to be to perfect. We don't think the ghosts won't mind if the letters are a little crooked. The first step is choosing a font and printing it out. Then using a transparent sheet or in our case a lighting gel laying around we trace the font onto it as best we can. Then we place the gel onto the overhead and position it to the desired size. We have been transferring the lettering to a large sheet of plywood that has already had a base coat or aged look applied to it so the lettering may be painted over the top. After that we cut the signs down to the desired size. Then we straighten all the lettering edges using a ruler and start painting the outsides first and then fill in the centers last with paint. After its dry we will lightly sand the whole sign to give it that weathered look. Now the signs ready to hang after a quick wash with watered down black to give it that aged look. We just have a few last touches on the saloon and then we will start the next facade. The western saloon stands 14' high and is 24' wide. Its made of studio style flats and built from the wall panels we had in our maze walk through last year under our car port. If your interested in building facades, flats, and wall panels be sure to subscribe and watch this years race to build as many false front building structures as we can. 🧰 MATERIALS: _________________ 🔨 TOOLS: _________________ 🔔 SOCIAL: _________________ 🎬 YouTube - / hollywoodhaunter 📸 Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/hollywoodha... 📸 Instagram - / pickertreats 😀 Facebook - / hollywoodhaunter 🎃 Website - http://www.hollywoodhaunter.com/ ✉️ Contact - http://www.hollywoodhaunter@gmail.com ☕ Thanks for the Support! https://www.buymeacoffee.com/hollywoo...
