For the fourth part of my Chile trip, I travel to the remote and fascinating Rapa Nui (Easter Island) — the part I had been most excited about! After a slightly chaotic flight, I finally arrived at this mysterious island filled with legends, volcanic landscapes, and the world-famous Moai statues. During my stay, I joined the 3 classic guided tours (a full-day tour and two half-day tours), which are mandatory with a local guide in order to visit the island’s main archaeological sites. These tours took me across the entire island, visiting the famous Birdman village of Orongo, the Moai quarry, Tongariki with its 15 standing statues, Puna Pau, Ahu Akivi, and many more. Along the way, I learned ancient traditions, encountered crazy plants on the beach, enjoyed sunsets by the ocean, and of course, had delicious meals with an unforgettable sea view.
