Dr. Stanton specializes in Orthopedics, Pediatric Orthotics, Bone Tumors, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Scoliosis, Skeletal Dysplasia, and Spina Bifida. Dr. Stanton’s greatest joy is seeing his children improve and go on to live long healthy lives. He loves getting cards and pictures of his patients as they get older and graduate from high school, college, and get married. Years later, the knowledge that they are happy and healthy is very satisfying and gives him renewed purpose. Dr. Stanton graduated from the University of Florida, and was then commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. He served two years then returned to Gainesville where he graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1976. He was inspired by surgeons he worked with as an Army hospital administrator and by the end of his medical training, knew he wanted to work with children. Joining Nemours in 1987, Dr. Stanton worked at Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE for 13 years, and at Nemours Children’s Clinic, Pensacola for 11 years. He then transferred to the Orthopedic Clinic at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando. Dr. Stanton was named Physician of the Year at Nemours Children’s Clinic, Pensacola, and has received the Best Doctor in America recognition.
