The dragon is the most annoying aspect of this battle, but there are several ways to deal with it. It’s possible to cancel the dragon by doing a QTE during the summon, and the ecstasy power is helpful for this tactic. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to align most QTEs with the summon besides the first, meaning you usually wind up manually avoid the dragon for the rest of the fight. To counter the dragon reliably, I opted for a very safe strat: during the summon, I ran as far away as I could to give me more space to dodge. In addition, I had to keep my battery as high as possible, as I’m practically guaranteed to get hit more than once, and the dragon takes huge chunks of battery. After that point, I just waited out the dragon as he can appear randomly and quickly. I squeezed in a few attacks on Ryuji, but for the most part, I kept my distance until the dragon disappeared. While this isn't a terribly fast fight, it didn't take nearly as long as I expected to record. I had a ton of trouble with Bitter Ryuji back in the day, so it feels great to see how much better I’ve gotten at NMH2 since then with a successful fight like this one.
