It focuses on speed and security optimisations - the default Linux kernel is heavily optimised using the BORE (Burst-Oriented Response Enhancer) scheduler, while the desktop packages are compiled with LTO and x86-64-v3 optimization, security flags and performance improvements. The available desktop environments and window managers include KDE Plasma, GNOME, Xfce, i3, bspwm, LXQt, Openbox, Wayfire and Cutefish. CachyOS also ships with both graphical and command-line installers and provides a Firefox-based browser (called Cachy-Browser) with some security enhancements and performance optimisations.
