In efforts to increase the visibility of Asian American documentary filmmakers and storytellers, the Asian American Documentary Network (A-Doc) continues to create space, resources, and community to support more diverse stories that disrupt mainstream narratives. Join A-Doc for some exciting updates from their latest programmatic initiatives. Microdocs Showcase Hear about A-Doc’s latest storytelling initiative “Our Stories, Our Voices”, a series of six microdocs that centers voting and election stories in AAPI communities. The series leans into our strengths as documentarians of the diaspora, uplifting emerging voices, and sharing unique perspectives on issues facing the nation that have largely remained invisible. In partnership with A-Doc. Featuring the A-Doc Microdocs filmmakers: Mia Barnett, Chithra Jeyaram, Sonia Desai Rayka and Eden Sabolboro. ABOUT CAAMFEST CAAM presents CAAMFest (formerly the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival) in May, the world’s largest showcase for new Asian American and Asian film, food and music programs, annually presenting over 100 works in San Francisco and Oakland. Since 1982, our film festival has been an important launching point for Asian American independent filmmakers as well as a vital source for new Asian cinema. ABOUT CAAM ( www.caamedia.org) The Center for Asian American Media is a nonprofit organization dedicated to presenting stories that convey the richness and diversity of Asian American experiences to the broadest audience possible. We do this by funding, producing, distributing and exhibiting works in film, television and digital media. For 40 years, CAAM has exposed audiences to new voices and communities, advancing our collective understanding of the American experience through programs specifically designed to engage the Asian American community and the public at large.
