Sailing from Camden to Rockland aboard the Pinky schooner Prophet with her captain and builder Tom. We used no motor, but sailed her straight from her mooring in Camden's outer harbor, south down Penobscot Bay, turning in at the breakwater Lighthouse in Rockland. The Prophet is a traditional wooden Pinky schooner built to a design recorded by Howard Chappelle. She was built on a farm in Maine, Tom fell all his own trees and built here as traditional as possible. She does not have a motor, instead she uses a yawlboat powered by a 100 year old single cylinder gas motor. Pinky schooners were used as cargo and fishing vessels along the coast of Maine, today only a few exist. Other examples would be the Fame and Ardelle built in Essex, MA by Harold Burnham. All footage was shot, edited, and mixed by Capt. Outlandish and Outlandish Marine.
