There are several options for bus companies if you travel to Sapa by sleeper bus. For us, I chose the SAO VIET company. The journey takes approximately 5 hours and costs more or less USD 30. Overnight buses are popular, allowing you to arrive in Sapa in the early morning and start exploring immediately, like what we did! Journey Time: The bus ride from Hanoi to Sapa typically takes around 5.5 to 6 hours but travel time can vary due to road and traffic conditions. Our journey is exactly 5 hours for this trip. Maybe because we didn't need to stop over for a toilet break. I booked a sleeper bus with a toilet, but I only found a sleeper bus with a toilet through Sao Viet Ticket Prices: Bus fares range from $25 to USD 30, depending on the bus company and the type of bus. Limousine buses, with their spacious seats, may be pricier. I paid 441 HKD for 2 people "one way" only. Popular Departure Times: Many travelers opt for overnight buses, departing from Hanoi around 9 PM or 10 PM. We chose to depart at 11 pm so we can get our sleep and explore Sapa immediately when we arrive. Amenities: Air conditioned, USB chargers, Wi-Fi, blankets, and bottled water, and a small TV screen if you want to watch, and most importantly, a TOILET. Not all sleeper buses have toilets. If you prefer a sleeper bus with a toilet you have to check this when you are booking your sleeper buses. Buses without a toilet have 2 stops on the way for a toilet break. I prefer the one with a toilet because I always need to go especially when I drink plenty of water. Pickup and Drop-off Most bus companies offer free pick-up and drop-off within the Hanoi Old Quarter and Sapa town. We are arriving from Hong Kong so I chose Noi Bai International Airport as our pickup point. You can choose your pickup point when booking online. Booking: You can book bus tickets online through various platforms, including Klook, Vexere, and the bus company's official websites.
