(composer commentary) This could very well be the most stuff I've put into a song so far... Before I even started putting notes down, I knew that I wanted two things: to repurpose an old unused motif we had, and to add a section with a descending tolling bell. When you're not skilled enough to be flexible yet, it's usually hard to execute your ideas, and in the end, I often end up replacing said ideas with something different. At first, I thought it'd end the same way with this one- but it luckily worked out, and the two parts were realized! The rest was just adding more until the vibes were complete. We wanted a very clear direction, with main inspirations coming from both the soundtracks of corru.observer and the minecraft detour mod, as they both perfectly capture that essence of the uncomfortable and alien. Give them a listen, it's great! After it was done, mixing it was pretty hard; I'm not good at it, and it really does take a lot of care to balance everything when theres a lot of instruments- it makes you wish the concept of audio had more room lmao -- CAVERN CRUSHER is a sandbox exploration game on ROBLOX which features the Astenians exploring a wide world of mysterious circumstances.
