To unlock adult content or certain settings, users will need to be "age-assured" through one of several methods. How Verification Works Automatic Inference: For most adults, Discord will use a background AI model to predict age based on account tenure, activity patterns, and device info without requiring a manual check. Manual Checks: If the AI cannot confirm you are an adult, you must provide a video selfie for facial age estimation or upload a government ID. Privacy Measures: Discord states that video selfies are processed on-device and never saved, while ID documents are typically deleted immediately after verification. Restrictions for Unverified Users If you do not verify as an adult, the following restrictions will apply: Age-Gated Spaces: You cannot access 18+ channels or servers. Content Filters: Sensitive or graphic media will be permanently blurred. Communication Limits: Direct messages from unknown users will be sent to a separate inbox, and you will be unable to speak in "Stage" channels.
