reinstallation video is here: • Simple re-installation of front barrel ban... This works on Argentine, Chilean, Turkish Mausers, and any other like models such as Swede M96, etc. also works on the M1916 and even the Type I Carcano. It will not damage the rifle and you already have the tool! And...it is simple. I like simple! And Fast! I made a statement at the beginning of this video that was perhaps misleading. Apparently soldiers were prohibited from completely disassembling these Mausers, and only armorers were permitted to do so. That likely explains why so many of them that were used in humid climates are so pitted under the woodline. At any rate we collectors are not in the Argentine, Chilean, or Turkish armies, and most of us do (and should) at some point take them apart to inspect and clean them. I recommend using a cleaning stand or padded vise for working on any rifle. However I did this on a couch for brevity and since it is simple enough to do this that I do not find it necessary to secure the rifle into a vise to do it. Thanks for watching. You will like this method.
