Once again there was a large turnout of Golf R's at the VW Action Show at Santa Pod Raceway. With cars running from just below 13 seconds all the way down into the 9's (albeit the quickest car has a tuned Audi RS3 engine in it.) The Top 3 cars were. 3. Simon Wood, with his Mk6 Golf R. It has a forged engine built by AKS Tuning, with all the bolt ons, including a Garrett GTX3071 Turbo, and running Water-Methanol Injection. It is mapped by R-Tech Performance tuning, and is pushing out 533 bhp 491 lbft. Current PB - 11.00 @ 127mph 2. Paul Hulme in his Mk6 Golf R. It also has a forged engine built by AKS Tuning, with all the bolt ons, including an RS3 injector head mod, Owen Developments HTZ3073 Turbo, and Water-Methanol Injection. It is mapped by R-Tech Performance tuning, and is pushing out 554bhp & 470lb/ft. Current PB - 10.68 @ 128mph 1. David Lee in his Mk7 Golf R - Dave has changed his setup for a 2.5l Audi RS3 engine and DSG Gearbox. It is a Race Developments spec engine, with Artek engine internals, and running on Renagade e85 fuel. It is mapped by MRC tuning, and has seen over 800bhp and 730lb/ft. On the day it was turned down to approx 750bhp. Current PB - 9.48 @ 145mph.
