Why I rope my horses feet. Have you ever watched a horse get tangled up in some wire or get a tangled up in tree branches? It can cause a pretty big wreck if a horse isn't prepared. I'm a firm believer in preparing for the worst but hoping for the best. In this video I'll rope my filly's feet for the first time. This is so beneficial for several reasons but the biggest one is safety. I want to make sure that this filly will stand quietly and hold her feet up nicely for the farrier, this is absolutely necessary to establish from the beginning. I want to be sure that if this horse gets tangled up in a fence, she doesn't panic and gives to the pressure instead of injuring herself. By exposing my filly to this type of work now, I'll be helping to set her up for future situations and hopefully preventing problems.
