Not far from Chania, there are dive sites which feature intriguing tunnels that you can easily dive into(with guide of course) with no prior training beyond basic certified Scuba skills! These include the angelic Cathedral cave with a beam of light shining from above into the darkness, and the Elephant Cave which is mind-blowing on its own. It is only accessible from underwater and has an airpocket inside it that allows you to remove the regulator! Here you have huge stalactites and formations, in addition to some history from the remains of an extinct elephant species that used to live in there when the sea-levels were lower.
