To learn more about this contest, please visit https://bit.ly/2WXL3WV Full Presentation Title: A promising solid lubricant based on 2D Iron Oxide and reduced Graphene oxide for anti-corrosive coating applications Graphene and its derivatives are known to show high lubricity and sometimes superlubricity, but their application has been limited to use as a filler in lubricating oils due to their poor adhesion properties towards metals. On the other hand, rust which mainly consists of Iron Oxide causes a loss of a few billion dollars every year globally. Here, we aim to prepare a solid lubricant coating based on 2D Iron oxide and reduced graphene oxide which has better adhesion to metal substrates and shows high lubricity without the use of lubricating oils. The coating can be easily applied to the substrate by drop casting method and preliminary data shows the promising result of coefficient of friction values less than 0.1."
