Date of travel: 18 July 2019 Class of travel: First Class Cost of ticket: £72.50 One Way (Railcard Discount Included) Other information about the trip: I had an issue with the booking system when I booked my ticket. Usually, you can choose your seat on the seat map. I usually do this to ensure that I am in one of the single seats as I travel alone. However, the booking system wouldn't let me do this when I booked my ticket and when I went back to try and change my seat after I made the booking, every time I would attempt to change my seat, I would be met with an error message. You may have noticed when I boarded the train that I was in a different seat. This is because I had looked before hand and noticed 2 unreserved seats together. However, shortly before departure, an anncouncment was mad saying that you must be in the seat stated on your ticket due to how busy the train was. It's also worth noting that seating in first class is laid out in a 2-1 configuration. Standard class is laid out in a 2-2 configuration. It's worth booking this trip well in advance because although I paid £72.50 for this trip, first class tickets can often go for well over £100. The difference in price between standard class and first class for this trip was only £25 making this very good value for money!
