They are not rich in color compared to led monitors, especially with some ambient lighting. The color calibration definitely helps with giving the projector a deeper color. The differences are not easy to see in the quick comparison but there is a subtle difference in the contrast and saturation on the image especially in the blues. The reason why I chose the Xrite display pro calibrator over the spyder 5 is because of the option to calibrate projectors too. Too bad we dont have the option to save the color profile to a usb or something and be able to upload it directly on the Benq device.
