In this second part of All Day Vinyl's LEGENDS Podcast interview with music producer Mark Howard, we look behind the scenes on the recording of Neil Young's Le Noise & Tom Waits Real Gone album sessions, and remixing of Joni Mitchell's debut album. In this clip Mark recalls talks recording Tom Waits' 2004 album Real Gone in Northern California. Tom and Mark recorded the album in an old converted schoolhouse and in order to achieve Tom's vision the duo found everyday objects to create brand new sounds. Mark relates some really great anecdotes about working with Tom and his unique mannerisms. I'm personally a big Tom Waits fan and I enjoyed hearing these stories, I hope you enjoy them as well.
