For many production workflows, NDI is the main way for video sources to move between devices. While incredibly flexible, leveraging NDI reliably typically requires a technical understanding of the network it is running across. This is especially true when using Full-Bandwidth NDI – and even more so if 4K sources are involved. On today’s show, we’ll look at a way to bypass some of this network complexity by directly connecting NDI sources to your main production computer. We’ll go over the steps needed to install and configure a 4 Port network card to support plugging cameras - or other NDI sources - directly into it without the need for an external switch.
