This kodachi chrome plated 14K gold nib grind is by Yukio Nagahara The Nib Sharpener via Bungubox, Japan. It was ground from a B nib to what is now a M (Japanese B is more like European M, and Japanese M is more like a European F). Like the zoom nib this kodachi special grind results in thinner lines with a higher angle and thicker with a lower one resembling the movements of an ancient eastern brush. Visible in its fullest potential in Kanji and Chinese characters, this is nevertheless a delicious nib to write Latin scripts with. My handwriting isn’t the best. Not as unwieldy as the zoom nib due to it being super broad, this finer nib grind feels more functional for me. Despite how this video’s audio may sound on your device, this nib is smooooooooth. Note that I am writing on a speciality costed rice paper. (I can’t remember if 2023 Hobonichi still uses the old Tomoe River paper). Also note that although this isn’t Sailor branded, Bungubox’s pens are Sailor made, and Sailor is known for their pencil like nibs. In that they give you a nice crisp feedback without being scratchy. It isn’t for everyone, but those who love this, love it. Including me. I am very happy with it. — I am not affiliated in any way with Bungubox, Sailor, Yukio Nagahara, The Nib Grinder, or any of their associates in any way. Items were purchased at full retail price plus international shipping from Japan to New Zealand using my own personal fund. This is a hobby and this video is for recreational purposes only. #kodachi #fountainpen #bungubox #tomoeriverpaper #hobonichi #journalwithme
