Also, the brain has a special protective barrier called the blood-brain barrier that protects the brain from poison, and most chemotherapies are considered poisonous. However, there are new investigational therapies for GBM including Tumor Treating Fields, treatments that can potentially cross the blood-brain barrier, and next-generation sequencing.
