We slipped through the broken door of the abandoned bowling alley, the hinges groaning in protest, but the air inside was still and eerily silent. The place smelled of dust, mold, and stale memories. The neon signs above the lanes were dark now, their once-vibrant colors faded to ghostly shades. The glossy hardwood floors, worn down by years of strikes and spares, reflected the flickering light from the few surviving overhead bulbs. Lord and I shared a look. It was one of those moments, the kind where you’re both excited and a little freaked out, but neither of us would admit it out loud. We’d been to a lot of places like this, but there was something different about this one. Something about the quiet. The stillness. It was like we were the first to step in here in years. We wandered deeper, past the lanes lined with dusty bowling balls, their colors faded but their shapes still distinct. Some had strange, vintage logos etched into them, the kind you wouldn’t see anywhere today. Trophy cases stood abandoned near the walls, their glass cracked but the plaques still gleaming, some with names I vaguely recognized from old league championships. I picked up a small one—a silver cup with a faded engraving. “1992 State Champs.” It felt like holding a piece of history, something lost but somehow still here. Then I spotted it. At the far end of the room, a row of arcade games, their screens cracked or covered in dust. But one of them—there, almost like a beacon—was *Ms. Pac-Man*. The cabinet looked pristine compared to the others, the paint still bright and inviting. I couldn’t help myself. I stepped over, running my fingers along the edges of the machine. It was surreal, the idea that this game had been abandoned here, forgotten in time. I was joined here today by: @lordexplores Check out my socials! Instagram: https://instagram.com/obsoletevoids?i...
