In this lecture, Raphael Neuhann, FEBO shares his practical experience with the Intensity Pentafocal IOL in refractive lens exchange. Initially drawn to the lens for its preloaded design and surgical ease, he reports strong optical performance and high patient satisfaction. Neuhann highlights the lens’s smooth visual transitions, tolerance to minor refractive errors, and strong contrast sensitivity - especially under low-light conditions. Early clinical outcomes show stable refractive results, excellent uncorrected visual acuity at all distances, and a very low enhancement rate (1.2%). Compared to traditional trifocal IOLs, Intensity stands out for its functional vision in everyday situations, reduced patient complaints, and rapid neuroadaptation. Neuhann concludes that the lens offers both procedural and optical advantages, making it his first choice for patients seeking full spectacle independence.
