On 3 December 2005, footballing legend Denis Law paid tribute to his late friend George Best at the latter's funeral service in Stormont, Belfast. After carrying Best's coffin to the base of the Stormont steps, Law followed the procession into the service, during which he made a moving eulogy to his old friend. With trademark humour, Law colourfully recounted the highs and lows of his decades-long relationship with Best. Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson could be seen chuckling at Law's eulogy, Law and Best having each spent 11 years at the club. "I would like to think that we will meet up again one day," said Law, before adding, "needless to say, not too soon.
