Yanchep Line Bus Changes - Routes 490 & 491

With the opening of the Yanchep Rail Extension, most bus routes in the far north are undergoing changes. In this video we explore the major changes with routes 490 and 491, which travel north from Butler Station along Marmion Avenue near all the new stations, serving Alkimos, Eglinton, Yanchep and Two Rocks. Route 491 serves more of the suburban Yanchep area and terminates on Yanchep Beach Road while 490 runs straight through Yanchep and continues on to Two Rocks. These long routes will be replaced by many shorter routes operating between the new stations on the Yanchep Line, which will more comprehensively serve the residential areas in between. There are a few sections which will no longer see a bus service operating on them, all of which are also featured in this video. Thanks to ‪@justinbuster86‬ for coming along to help record some of the sections so I didn't have to do them all with the quite scarce timetable that exists with these routes. UPDATE AUGUST 2024: Route 498 now has deviations to Two Rocks Shopping Centre meaning that the old 490 terminus stop is served again.
