Meaning of the song (for me): This one is pretty personal, so here’s the backstory behind the lyrics. After finishing school, I worked part-time at a supermarket for 8 years, always with one goal: to eventually quit and live off music. Long story short.. I quit my job 3 years ago and have been making a decent income ever since, purely from music. But as my income grew, I realized I had to ask myself the most important questions all over again: “What is my goal?” “What kind of music do I want to make in the long run?” … “What should I become?” For context: I sang on a lot of tracks for DJs and even started my own DJ project back then, simply because it was bringing in the most money. About a year ago, I started shifting my focus back to this project. It was a risky move, and I invested a lot of time and money to make it happen independently.. but it was sooo worth it. For the first time, I gained real fans, and no label was telling me what kind of music I had to make. It’s a privilege to be able to do this. I mean, I worked in a shitty supermarket for a loooong time, and no one believed I’d ever be able to quit. But I also realized it was kind of silly to think that making enough money with music would solve all my inner conflicts. Out of that spirit and those thoughts “what should I become" was born. I don’t know if any of you even care about this kind of stuff, but if there’s anything you can take from it, it’s this: Never stop dreaming, because everything’s possible.
