Before her, there was a girl named Gracie, who was also a part of Alexandria before Negan assumed control of the town and stole people to do bidding. Judith also happens to know Gracie from before the Fall of the World. Gracie was yet another brainwashed soldier that killed and performed wicked behavior for Negan, but she was so much more influenced than Judith. Even when Judith carried out Negan’s orders, she seemed to enjoy it a lot more than Judith, who had a lingering sense that what she was doing was wrong, but just didn’t know why. Judith is forced to forgive someone who did wrong in their past, except this time it’s difficult for a whole other reason compared to Negan because she once had feelings for this girl that she never had the chance to express, and vice versa. Even though Judith feels like Gracie’s partial willingness to carry out violence beyond necessary was a betrayal to her father’s mission to create a mostly peaceful and democratic world, she knows that the only way to lead the life that he wanted for her, she has to forgive one last person who hurt her in some way.
