Should I Do That?: Decision-Making Skill Building for Students with Disabilities

Good decision-making skills are essential for a successful life as an adult. Too often, students with disabilities are not given strategic instruction and opportunities to practice and develop decision-making skills resulting in less independence and greater vulnerability as adults. In this webinar for parents, school professionals, service providers, and students, we will learn about the importance of decision-making skills and strategies for teaching children and youth with disabilities how to develop these skills. We will also learn about New York’s new Supported Decision-Making law and program as an alternative to guardianship for young adults.
