STS17 Kona Explosif 1990 Retrobike Restoration Part1

The beginning of my retrobike project - a full restoration of this 1990 Kona Explosif. I shopped all over the World for New Old Stock parts; creating an almost-new replica of what I used to own as a 16 year old back in the day! After finding a delapidated Explosif in a garage clearout sale, with most of the original components missing, knackered paint and covered in hay and cobwebs I spent 18 months working on this bike - teh frame was refinished by hand with custom-made reproduction graphics, and rebuilt with no expense spared and entirely with 1990 Suntour XC Pro components! It is a thing of beauty - watch the journet here - this video is an introduction, plus a bit of history - including a cameo from my first ever MTB - a 1988/89 Saracen!
