Karma becomes very complicated to understand once we realize that reactions can span across lifetimes. This lack of understanding is what leads us to bemoan that God who is described as an ocean of kindness and the embodiment of compassion is doing nothing to relieve us of our woes. On the contrary, our God or Guru seems to be the source and cause of our miseries! God/Guru is verily the embodiment of Love and Truth and is an ocean of Compassion. Everything done is for our highest good as I realized through this initially painful but ultimately joyful, roller-coaster ride of an experience with Sri Sathya Sai Baba.
