Dr. Massot recommends that Canada balance its reliance on the US by enhancing ties with Asia and other global markets, while also examining the implications of China's rise and its impact on international trade dynamics. Additionally, her insights advocate for proactive public engagement and policy discussions to foster public opinion in favor of robust Canada-China relations. Through these strategies, Massot believes Canada can better navigate and mitigate the challenges posed by US tariff policies. ---------------------------------------------------- Pascale Massot is an associate professor in the School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa.
