Best Restaurants in Chinatown Calgary!

I have been to Chinatowns all across the world and one of my favourites is surprisingly located in the city I grew up in, Calgary! So I knew I had to take you all on a Chinatown food tour in Calgary before moving to Victoria! Calgary's Chinatown has a long history and includes restaurants that have been open for over 50 years. It also houses what is supposedly the largest Chinese cultural centre in North America, which is modelled after the Temple of Heaven in Beijing. What I love about Calgary's Chinatown specifically is that it is packed with restaurants. A lot of the Chinatowns I have visited across the world also include a lot of grocery stores and other shops but I feel like in Calgary it is very focused on the food which is the main reason I visit! Additionally, while I only ate in the main area, Chinatown pretty much extends all the way up centre street (going north). For a dozen blocks the street is lined with East Asian businesses all the way until Central Landmark mall. If you want to go on a lovely walk and discover a lot of great restaurants, I recommend exploring Chinatown, then walking up the stairs to McHugh Bluff, and then making your way up centre street until you reach Central Landmark mall. For this food tour I could only go to a couple spots so I decided on: Regency Palace (Chinese) Kimchi House (Korean & Japanese) Cheng Du Street Food (Chinese) Monster Kakigori Dessert (Japanese) This was a nice mix of two new spots for me and two spots that I really enjoy. Everything was quite good but I must say that Cheng Du Street Food was my favourite and is probably my favourite restaurant in Calgary's Chinatown. Some other honourable mentions include: Rau Bistro (Vietnamese) My Vietnamese Delight (Vietnamese) Happy Veggie House (Chinese, Vegetarian) U & Me (4am Chinese food) I hope you all enjoy this food tour and thank you so much for continuing to support me!
