Two centuries ago, English miners immigrated to central Mexico en masse bringing with them their skills of working underground. In return, these Cornwall natives left behind several remnants of their British heritage. The most famous of these legacies are the Cornish pastries where, at the Museo del Paste, visitors create and sample these baked English treats that have become part of the local fare. Overlooking the village, the turn-of-the-century hospital treated the miners for their illnesses and injuries. On a vibrant Sunday, Matt strolls through the pueblo's centro and zocalo and climbs the local hills to observe the village's heritage of days gone by.
