Presenting roast leg of lamb, cooked using an an authentic recipe from the European Middle Ages. This is the first in a series entitled "Medieval Cast Iron Cookery," where we cook authentic recipes from the European Middle Ages. I'm not going to convert this YouTube channel completely into updated medival dishes, but every so often we'll be taking a trip back to the days of royal feasts, peasant dishes, and everything in between. I do hope you enjoy this, and please try these recipes yourself. The tricky part is translating these recipes into something that can be cooked in a modern day kitchen. Fortunately, some authors have made the effort to bring these ancient recipes up to date. This leg of lamb was roasted according to a cookbook called "Pleyn Delit," which was pubished in 1976 and updated in 1996.
