Go fishing in the sea of your unconscious mind, And be careful that your catch isn't bigger than your boat. Or it will Pull you under. I may be wrestling against the tides, But the Struggle has only just begun! At it's essence I believe this battle is designed as a test. It features the Ouma bosses as summons and carries traits of the other 120 NPCs. Cropdale being the most easily noticeable. Recalling all of the previous Ouma Bosses and their tricks likely helpful in planning out a clear. Of course, those were months ago... While certainly difficult and complex, there are some key points I found: The difficulty can be tailored to your setup. Each monster beaten lowers his HP and Shields. Allowing him to Absorb the monster lowers his Defense, but increases his Attack. The last set of monsters he doesn't seem to Absorb. They are also the most difficult to deal with. Defeating all the monsters before he can Absorb them creates an almost unwinnable scenario. Each monster defeated locks certain Weaknesses and even seems to change a current Weakness to an Implanted one. Each monster has an individual effect on him. The Weaknesses seem to shift based on which monster is beaten. Have not Broken him yet. Need more testing to determine how that interacts with all the variations in this fight. Comatose is a serious factor later in the fight. Looks like it's encouraged by the last set. Worth confirming as it's hard to deal with. The complexities presented here is overwhelming in approach! But that can also create possibilities. Looks like the best way is to allow him to Absorb enough monsters to lower his Defense while also defeating just enough to keep his Shields where needed for your team to set up and Break. Which monsters is up to your team's needs. I think avoiding, if possible, the last set is preferable. Likely 2-4 Breaks needed. It has been difficult for me these past couple months to keep up with COTC. Life and Work are strong factors for sure. But, I have been playing the game for a Long time now. Longer than what I would normally do... Without Struggle and Purpose I wither in my approach. Would just like to say that the most fun I've had in that time is watching all of your Flamechurch, Cropdale, and other 120 NPC Clears. It was a blast and inspiring to see. And to the Brave few out there doing the Perfect Cascades, I Salute You! I will try my best to be able to do the same as you all have done for me! With the Introductions all said and done, I can begin my Quest in earnest ✌️ Music Credits: The Wildlands (Extended) | Octopath Traveler II Orchestral Cover @TandA-Music Battle theme from Octopath Traveler but it's on PlayStation 1 @Elezeid Battle I (Octopath Traveler) Metal Cover @RoPanuganti & @viopatti Battle Theme - Octopath Traveler (RockMetal) Guitar Cover @gabocarina96 Octopath Traveler - Battle Theme I Metal Guitar Cover @FamilyJules7X Octopath Traveler - Battle Theme (Rock Violin Cover) @LionmightOfficial Octopath Traveler - Battle Theme violin cover @xiehanni OCTOPATH TRAVELER II Determination Unshakable Resolve @Shurai-Yue Cait's Theme (Octopath Traveler II) - Piano @PixelPartitas Dark Caverns & Beneath the Surface 洞窟ダンジョン地下道ダンジョン Determination Break & Boost - Cait's Theme (キャットリンのテーマ) @squareenixmusicchannel9893 Original Music Composer - Yasunori Nishiki 0:00 The Final Quest Begins 5:05 Identifying Weaknesses 16:53 Survive the Monsters 34:08 Defeat the Monsters 46:32 Testing the First Round Monster's Effects 48:45 Lab Work 1:07:47 Why Try? 1:08:30 Reason & Purpose - Epilepsy Warning 1:13:11 The True Battle Commences!
