Over the course of time, around 200 live webcasts were broadcast from the STR studio in Frankfurt. As part of Vienna Art Week, in 2017 & 2018 STR-Webcasts were broadcast from the studio in Vienna for the first time. „STR’s live-webcasts have been antedating a style made popular by youtube, etc. years later, by merging performance, moderation, documentation, interviews, into a contemporary audio-visual format. A simultaneous working in front & behind the cameras, encoder and computers was required.“ (INPUT 2007, Lugano, panel and presentation on „Art in TV“) Read this text we wrote for "KUNSTFORUM 151" in 2000: „cyberspace in realtime-20sec webcasting - the precious short moments of realtime. STR started the project webcasting during the exhibition CrossLinks which took place in Berlin in January 1999. Following this webcast active week, the Frankfurt studio became the location for the *Echtzeit happenings*. Webcasting from Frankfurt into cyberspace on a regular basis is the update version of the public STATION ROSE in Vienna 88-91.“ NOW: Since 03.2020 we STaRted with the live @home program again- from our studio in Vienna. The STReams met a global shutdown. The beginning was a balcony concert on 15th of March. What STATION ROSE started and called “DIGITAL COCOONING” in self-experiments in the mid-1990s, could now, 25 years later, be translated as social distancing and "Ferngesellschaft" (Peter Weibel).
