In this video, I design and build a contemporary cherry bar stylistically similar to a bar cabinet I built some years ago. The bar is built from cherry plywood and cherry hardwood with Domino (loose tenon) joinery throughout. It was designed with two cabinet boxes straddling a counter height refrigerator for all of my juices, mixers, etc. The doors on the cabinets have soft close hinges and integrated handles routed into the tops. For finish I used two coats of Osmo hard wax oil applied with a scotchbrite pad Throughout the project I describe my thinking around design and problem solving for the construction including a solution for the challenge of providing adequate strength with the giant frig opening in the front. Please follow along from my design inspiration to making the first cocktails at the completed piece. I'm really pleased with how it came out, and hope that you will enjoy watching.
