ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition? Pros and Cons

I discuss the pros and cons of joining the ASCE Concrete Canoe team. I break down how the concrete canoe competition works and some of the rules and regulations set out by the ASCE. I discuss some of my experiences when joining the NYU Concrete Canoe Club and some of the skills and experience I received along the way. I recommend all civil engineering students (and some mechanical engineering students) join the competition because there is a lot to learn and gain. The competition will help boost your resume by providing leadership skills and extracurricular activates that you can write down. It's always a point of bonding to meet other civil engineering students who participated in the ASCE Concrete Canoe Competition. These are especially important for civil engineering interviews when a personal connection goes a long way.
