Live from the Hive is an initiative from We The Curious, BeeBristol and University of Bristol that aims to engage people with the lives of honeybees through innovative use of technology and social media. The project has created the world’s first live tweeting honeybees triggered by real scientific data: / citybeehive / countrybeehive Live from the Hive: City Beehive – • Видео Live from the Hive: Country Beehive – • Live From The Hive: Country Beehive From 28 May 2016, visitors to We The Curious will be able to take part in a new exhibit in an indoor greenhouse in the Food! exhibition to compare the behaviour of the two bee colonies (one on the roof of We The Curious!) in real time. It includes live webcam images of the bees, interactive graphs using live data including ‘bees per minute’, air quality, weather and wind, and also the latest tweets from the both of the beehives. Live from the Hive is also accessible online, from the At-Bristol website: http://at-bristol.org.uk/bees This video was narrated and produced by Ross Exton. Featuring a reading of Virgil’s Bees by Carol Ann Duffy, poet laureate, courtesy of Pan Macmillan publishing. We’ll be releasing a video in a few months with some results from the study comparing our rooftop hive in the city, to that of the hive in the countryside. In the meantime, check out this fantastic video from our friends over at the Bristol Nature Channel: Honey - How is it made? • Honey - How is it made? | Bristol Nature C...
