This is the first in a short series I am doing regarding the different genres and types of experimental cinema, from the abstract to the avant-garde. In Episode 1, I explore what a found footage film is and what its goal is by looking at a specific example, while simultaneously debunking the myth that found footage works are just movies that don't belong to the filmmakers which the filmmakers claim to be their own. Sorry about the fact I wear like three different shirts in this one, but I filmed different segments on different days and so some of it got disjointed. This series will be a good one to watch if you are just new to the concepts of experimental film. While I am certainly not much of a filmmaker yet, I have seen many experimental films and understand quite well the concepts, as well as the fact I am introducing new concepts in my own body of work (most of which is not good enough to officially release). The next one in the series will be about the abstract film, although be patient as I have other things I want to upload as well (it might be about a month before I get the next one available). Check out my own experimental films and maybe look at my page on the Filmmaker's Cooperative, listed in my channel links. I plan to get the found footage film I show off in this episode contributed to them eventually, but that will probably be later this year. If you are interested, you might try renting it, as it will not be available on YouTube. Subscribe if you want too, it would be nice but I know most of you aren't going to so I'll shut up.
