After playing the new free to play Whis’ challenge battle, as well as a few matches of PvP, I have come to the conclusion that this Whis is actually pretty good. As the newest free to play unit, he certainly lives up to this new standard for free sparkings. His damage may only be fair, but his passives make up for it greatly, providing excellent disruption capabilities with his strike arts, green cards, and blue cards, leaving the enemy in harsh negative conditions. Additionally, his card draw speed is satisfactory. His greatest weakness is likely his somewhat lacking defense, but he does have a passive there allows him to regain a bit of the health. In conclusion, a great free to play unit. He’s got good gimmicks and is overall fun to use. I’d say that he’s worth maxxing out.
