In this video, we're exploring Windows 7 (yes, the legendary 2009 OS) running on modern hardware! We're using a 14th Gen Intel CPU paired with an Asus Prime Z790-P WiFi motherboard, 32GB of DDR5-5600 RAM from Adata, and a very basic 120GB Kingston SATA SSD. These are the updates (for x64 Windows 7) used in the video to get out of the searching for update loop, just search the string after the double dash to find them, preferably download them from Microsoft®Update Catalog: 1.SERVICE PACK 1 -- x64 windows6.1-kb976932-x64_74865ef2562006e51d7f9333b4a8d45b7a749dab.exe 2. (though ray tracing won't work with many games) I'll be taking the easy route with the installation, using the original installation DVD and a SATA SSD— so no complicated workarounds required. Thankfully, the motherboard has a PS/2 port, so no need to inject USB 3.0 drivers into a custom ISO today! After installation, we'll address USB 3.x support with generic drivers based on official AMD Windows 7 drivers. You can download the USB driver used in the video from here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TrMh... Then, we’ll dive into getting updates working again since the official update servers are still operational. A few critical updates are required, with the SHA-2 update being the most important, but there are others we need as well. Finally, we'll discuss retro gaming and DRM issues, and why Windows 7 remains a valuable "Plan B" for classic gaming. Don’t miss it!
