In this silent home movie dating to Feb. 1926, hop on board the S.S. Reliance and head out of NYC on a cruise through the Atlantic! See shots of people lounging on the deck, a young girl playing with her clockwork walking cat toy. Then, the "pirates" come marching through in their full pirate garb - skull and bones, tricorn hats, and eyepatches! SS Reliance was a steam liner that could carry about 1000 passengers, that was seized by the United States for reparations from WWI. This is when the ship was still operating under the United America Lines, as it wasn't sold back to Hamburg America Lines until July of 1926. The ship suffered a fate of suspected arson in 1938. Contact Regarding Usage 0:00 Departing NY Harbor 0:38 On the Deck 2:31 Pirate Parade! 3:25 Crew, Various Shots around the Ship 6:30 Meet "Adolph" 7:10 Lifeboats, More Crew Unfortunately, the original camera operator didn't do a very good job at keeping the camera clean, based on all the dust & dirt on the edges! Film itself also had a good amount of dirt "baked" on that wouldn't come off with cleaning. Rearranged a couple of the shots for better watching on YouTube.
