Learn from my mistakes and don’t get it on your fingers! Then add some spaghnam moss to the top of your pumpkin. Press down and secure. Ok, crafters listen up because I’ve got fun facts! Believe it or not you can actually hot glue the succulents to the moss and it won’t damage them in any way. In fact, the plants will root straight into the moss. So cool right? Before you start gluing like crazy pick a focal point plant that’s larger than the other succulents and place that prominently then you can fill in the cuttings around it. This festive fall project will look best if you use a variety of different colored succulents. Speaking of which, where did I get my gorgeous succulents you ask? I highly recommend checking out Succulent Source which is an online nursery. They ship all over the country and they also post cute pictures of their sons holding succulents on Facebook. They also sell cuttings which are perfect for this project because you don’t have to deal with the roots! Ok, lets talk care instructions because if you’re like my mom you’ll probably kill this thing fast. Spray with a squirt bottle twice a week and make sure it gets enough sun. Once the pumpkin begins to rot after a couple months you can cut off the top and plant it directly in a planter. Final step, add some dried flowers or plants to the pumpkin. You could also experiment with small pinecones and seed pods. How gorgeous is that? Now go make one and impress your friends! Make sure to use hashtag DIYwithCaitlin so I can see your work too!
