They were simple midwives doing their daily work. But God placed them in a very hard moment. Pharaoh, the most powerful man in Egypt, ordered them to kill Hebrew baby boys. The Bible says they feared God, so they did not obey the king. Their fear was not being scared—it was loving God, trusting Him, and knowing His ways are right. Even when no one was watching, they chose to do what pleased God. Through their obedience, God protected life and continued His plan of salvation. 📖 Bible Readings: Exodus 1:15-22 (Proverbs 29:25, Psalm 34:15, Acts 5:29, Proverbs 1:7, Micah 6:8; 2 Peter 2:13-17; Romans 13:1-7; 1 Kings 18) 👨🏻💻 Teachings: 1. Civil disobedience is biblical. 2. Human protection is just an illusion. 3. There is a blessing in obeying God. 💪🏼 Applications: 1. Obey God rather than man. 2. Resist the illusion of trusting in people. 3. Live under the favor and blessings of God. 🎙Discussion: What principles did you learn from the story of Shiphrah and Puah? 🤿 Dive Deeper: What are the similarities among Satan, Pharaoh, and Herod? 🙏🏼 Prayer: Father God, thank You for showing me through Shiphrah and Puah that You see the small and ordinary people who trust You. Sometimes I feel scared to do what is right because I worry about what others might say or do. Please give me a heart that fears You more than anything else. Teach me to pray, to listen, and then to obey You with courage. Help me trust that You are in control, even when obedience feels risky. I want my life to honor You and protect what You call good. Thank You for being the protector to those who choose Your ways. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
