The 26th plaque on the Galway Poetry Trail was unveiled on the wall of Thomas Dillon's Jewellers at the corner of Quay Street and Cross Street in Galway, featuring the poem 'The Claddagh Ring' by Nessa O'Mahony. It was unveiled by poet Mary O'Malley. The Galway Poetry Trail is a series of plaques which are dotted in locations around Galway city, and which feature pieces of writing about the places in which they are situated. Passers by can enjoy the poems on the trail as they come across them in locations such as Tigh Neachtain on Quay Street (featuring the poem The Kasbah by Gerry Hanberry), on the River Walk (featuring 'Vortex' by Gerard Reidy) and at Nimmo's Pier in the Claddagh (featuring 'Galway' by Louis McNeice). The Galway Poetry Trail is organised jointly by Kennys Bookshop and Galway City Council, in conjunction with Cúirt International Festival of Literature.
