For our first installment of our Vestige Video Sessions we are proud to present Ragtime Willie. Ragtime Willie explains about his version of Blind Blake's "Ropestretchin' Blues, part II": "About to get hung for a self defense murder, the singer relays to his woman, "just keep them flies from buzzin round me, and I will be satisfied". I get the feeling from this song and others of his, that Blind Blake had been mistreated by woman more than once in his life. Although I can't relate to every verse in this song, his guitar line and chords are so sweet, I'm happy to sing them anyways. The slide I grab for a verse is made out of bamboo. It has a nice mellow tone, the attack seems more pronounced than glass or metal. And if you drop it, it won't shatter.
