originally recorded on 6-21-24 Signal on the left: 4 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, 1 pair of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, NEG LED gate lights, and a RECO LED gate light. Signal on the right: 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, 3 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a WCH mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, an NEG LED gate light, and RECO LED gate lights. This crossing is located in a quiet zone. After catching I025 again at Thompson Lane, I'd heard from another railfan in the area that I141 should've been leaving Nashville not too far behind it. Unfortunately, I never saw I141 for some reason, though I ain't sure if I'd just missed it or what. Either way, I made my way on up to this crossing where, after about half an hour of waiting, I was able to catch my ninth train of the day: CSX M533 with a pair of ES44AHs leading a GP38-2 on the head-end and an ES40DC working as the mid-train DPU. Interestingly, the ES44AHs on this train were only two units apart! The train did absolutely crawl through this crossing though, even stopping on it for a few minutes in the process. This crossing is another nice one, featuring another mid-1990s CSX install. It appears that fairly early on, assuming they weren't just simply original, the front mast lights on the closer signal were replaced by the current Safetran 12x24 inch light heads. Then, sometime between 2011 and 2013, the original WCH 12x24 inch side lights on the closer signal were replaced by the current Safetran 12x24 inch light heads. Finally, sometime between 2017 and 2018, CSX gave this crossing an LED upgrade, with thankfully the only change here since being this crossing becoming a quiet zone sometime very recently. Definitely ain't a very compliant quiet zone, that being said, due to it lacking any kind of non-traversable medians of quad-gates here. Thankfully, this crossing still retains its original WCH mechanical bell, which still sounds fairly healthy. Always nice to get yet another mechanical bell recorded, especially at a crossing I hadn't filmed in action before. Hopefully this remains here for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm definitely glad I was able to record it when I did. http://www.rxrsignals.com/Tennessee/G...
