The Sauwandarek Jetty of Raja Ampat, Indonesia, is an exceptional dive site located in a sheltered bay in Mansuar that offers an unforgettable underwater experience. The reef gently slopes towards the East and West of the jetty and boasts stunning rock formations adorned with a plethora of colorful coral growth, making it a paradise for underwater photographers. The marine life here is abundant, and the site is renowned for its resident female green turtle that can be seen gliding gracefully around the reef. Besides the green turtle, divers can also encounter a large school of Bat Fish, as well as Oriental sweet lips, giant sweet lips, jacks/trevally, batfish, snapper, and damsel fish, all of which make the jetty their home. The area also offers the opportunity to spot white and black tip sharks, as well as cuttlefish, adding to the thrill of the dive. The dive site has much to offer in terms of underwater topography, and in the 18-30m depth range, divers can explore stunning coral bommies that are covered in glassfish and sweet lips, some time accompanied by wobbegong sharks.
